My seasonal retreat of mind body somatic movement is your act of self care for yourself before we move into the busy Christmas season - it is about rest, relaxation, resetting and realigning the body and mind.
During this beautiful day together you can expect:
🌲 Deep Relaxation and rest using the power of embodied movement and the vagus nerve
🌲 Removing tension from the body layer by layer, and discovering the world of organs in movement and breath
🌲 Realignment in body, mind and spirit with a session of my specialist Somatic Pilates
🌲 A time to really connect back into you, feel ground, resilient and more in your own body.
🌲 Space in nature and time for reflection and journalling. Experience the beautiful tranquil surroundings of the Shropshire Hills and Countryside amongst pine trees.
🌲 A cosy log fire, hot chocolate and seasonal healthy snacks
Our Somatic Body: Discovering the Vagus Nerve…
Is also known as the wandering nerve, a structural network from the brainstem down through the body into our organs and our senses.
80% is sensory - this incredible nerve tells the brain what is happening with our organs.
It is vital for keeping up healthy and for helping our organs calm after stressful events.
Having good vagal tone is critical for our overall wellbeing.
We have the ability to influence this incredible structure that lies deep within us.
And Our organs…
Are our inner world, and our sense of cosy
They have their own. life and movement when we move and breathe
They influence the structure of our body from the inside out
Our organs are very powerful places of deep emotion.
We have the ability to influence our organs through movement and breath too!
❤️ This is a day of you taking time away to connect deeply with you, and remove layers by layer all of the tension that your body and mind holds through the power of Somatic Movement.
❤️ It is also a chance just to take a breath and get some space in your busy life, and deeply rest, before the festive season comes at us all.
❤️ Its a place for you to just be, with no pressure from the outside world.
❤️ If you have never experienced Somatic Movement before you are welcome as the session is taught in a way that people of many different backgrounds can access. You will learn about the world of movement through the organs, vagal tone and something called interoception which is our inner state of wellbeing.
❤️ If you are a movement professional you will find some useful resources, or if you are interested in Somatics or are a practitioner yourself come and discover Somatics from Franklin Method® and a therapeutic Polyvagal perspective - my two principal practices, although there are many more that I also use.
