Tailored Specialist Care for Pregnancy, Birth & Postpartum Recovery
Whether you are navigating the physical shifts of pregnancy or rebuilding your body after childbirth, standard fitness classes often fall short. They rarely account for joint hypermobility, pelvic girdle strain, intra-abdominal pressure management, preparing the physical body for birth, or deep core re-education post natally.
As a certified Pre and Post Natal Pilates Specialist with the Centre for Women’s Fitness, and Diastasis Recti Recovery Practitioner and ISMETA Master Somatic Movement Therapist, I offer evidence-informed Pilates and somatically guided 1:1 movement tailored entirely to your body’s changing needs - from early pregnancy through to late postpartum recovery.
Medical Clearance & Collaborative Care
Your safety is paramount.
Medical Clearance Required: To begin working together, all pre and postnatal clients must be fully cleared to exercise by their Midwife, GP, or Women’s Health Physiotherapist.
Physiotherapist Sign-Off: If you are currently seeing or have recently seen a Women's Health Physio, I require their formal sign-off before we commence movement sessions.
Working Hand-in-Hand: I regularly work in direct partnership with Specialist Women's Health Physiotherapists, aligning your Pilates sessions with their clinical treatment plans to ensure a seamless, supportive recovery.
Specialist 1:1 Pre & Postnatal Coaching (Studio or Virtual)
Bespoke remedial movement and somatic sessions tailored entirely to your unique body, timeline, and medical guidance.
Sessions are delivered 1:1 in-person at the Birmingham studio or 1:1 virtually via live online Zoom, giving you dedicated, undivided focus and care.
How We Work Together:
Pregnancy & Birth Preparation: Relieve pelvic girdle pain (PGP/SPD), support postural shifts, and learn breathing and pelvic floor relaxation techniques to prepare for labor.
Diastasis Recti Rehabilitation: Evidence-based, safe strategies to improve linea alba tissue tension and restore functional core strength post-birth.
Pelvic Floor Re-education: Functional movement and breathwork to restore stability and alignment beyond standard Kegels.
Bespoke Postpartum Recovery: Phased, gentle movement for those recovering from C-sections, birth trauma, or complex deliveries.
Questions & Answers
-
Yes! If you have never done Pilates before I ask you to wait until the end of your first trimester. This is a very delicate time in the body so you are advised to wait and then join me in your second trimester. If you are already my client you are allowed to continue subject to medical clearance and this will depend on any issues you may already have. Tailored 1:1 pregnancy movement helps relieve joint and pelvic pain, maintain pelvic floor health, improve breath mechanics, and build functional strength for birth. All prenatal sessions are adapted safely for your specific trimester once cleared by your Midwife or GP.
-
It depends! If you had a natural vaginal birth you need to wait 6 weeks and gain clearance From your midwife or GP confirming they are happy for you to exercise.
If you had a C section you need to wait 12 weeks and I will need a note from your midwife or GP clearing you for exercise.
If you are currently working with a medical professional, if you had complications, pre existing issues or a pubis symphysis derangement or separation of the abdominals (known as diastasis recti) I will need written clearance from them. Please do contact me for more advice.

Basically to ensure you are safe when exercising. There are many complications that can occur post partum within your joints, bones or muscles as well as within other parts of your body! In the early months after birth the body is still fatigued and so intense workouts are not advised. Don’t be deceived by the idea of snapping the body back after childbirth as celebrities boast of - sometimes what they say and what is actually happening are two very different things. Listen to your body and be prepared to wait for things to settle.
-
If your body has had a baby then yes, you do have a post natal body! Many women do find this work incredibly supportive to them, so you definitely do not have to be a new mum! If you are looking for deeper support and connection in your body this course can definitely help you!
-
Yes. As a certified Diastasis Recti Recovery Specialist, my 1:1 approach focuses on restoring deep core motor control and intra-abdominal pressure management, strengthening the connective tissue (linea alba) to restore functional stability. This will be subject to you being cleared medically as some diastasis need clinical care which is outside of my scope.
-
Pelvic floor issues are not issues to be ignored. If you have any form of pelvic pain, or you are having problems with continence you should always refer back to your GP, women’s health physiotherapist or specialist. That is nothing to be ashamed of and is really important to ensure recovery of the issue and that you are physically ready to exercise. This course should help support but should never replace gaining medical advice.
-
Yes. I work hand-in-hand with Specialist Women's Health Physiotherapists, Midwives, and medical professionals. As a movement specialist, I complement their clinical diagnostic work by providing structured, 1:1 movement remedial work based on their recommendations.
-
Standard fitness classes focus purely on mechanical exercise, which can often overwhelm a sensitive or hyper-alert nervous system post-birth. As a SomaSoul® Somatic Therapist and Master Somatic Movement Therapist (MSMT), I integrate trauma-informed emotional holding, nervous system regulation, and deep sensory pacing into every 1:1 session - ensuring movement feels physically safe and emotionally grounding.
-
Yes. Live 1:1 sessions are available fully online via Zoom, allowing you to access specialist pre and postnatal movement care from the comfort of your home. 1:1 in-person sessions are held at the studio in Birmingham.

"A beautiful act of self-care and healing..."
"Personally, I valued the space and the small group which created a very personal experience with a clear connection to the other participants... I loved the softness of the approach and the connection to the beautiful and powerful act of breathing and how breath connects to all systems of the body (the soma) including physical, emotional and spiritual.
Breath is apparently such a simple act and yet such a beautiful act of self-care and healing which can easily be incorporated into daily life and practice.”
