Relax, Realign & Restore.

Pilates for your Post Natal body.

A gentle and restorative programme for you, body and mind.

Make time to return back to you, mind and body.

You are not damaged or weak. Your body has changed, and so the focus of your exercise needs to change too, to support you, your body, and life as a whole.

Pilates for your Post Natal Body is about restoring and recovering your body to support you. Strength and support is gained from the inside out. Feel calmer, more integrated and work in a mindful way that does not stress your body out.

Benefits of this course to your body, mind and life.

This course focuses upon developing strength from the inside out, working on deep stabilising muscles, before attempting a regular exercise programme.

It teaches you about the very intimate relationship between your body and your breath, which helps with alignment, rehabilitation of your body and relaxation, which is an overlooked part of post natal work.

It provides you with knowledge and education about your pelvic floor, and how to support it (it’s definitely not all about kegals!)

It helps you bring your body back into alignment and balance, helping support joints and muscles that get overworked, in particular the relationship of the pelvis to the spine, which gets displaced during pregnancy.

By working in a gentle way with your body you will find it responds and will support the health of your immune, and circulatory system as well as increase energy levels over time.

This course can be a springboard into other forms of exercise and can support that, or you can choose to continue working this way as long as you wish. The programme is relaxing, releasing, energising and restorative.

Develop a greater trust and awareness in your own body. It has changed, but you can work on making it better functionally than it was before.

It provides you with a community - you are not alone on your journey but are working with other women who are on the same journey as you.

This is a semi private in person course, there is space for 6 ladies only.

The course contains 6 weeks of 6 classes.

It additionally includes one 1:1 screening session with me on Zoom during which we can go through your health questionnaire, talk through your birth experience if you wish and discuss what you would like to achieve.

If you are unable to attend because you have to stay at home or are away you have the option to join the group via Zoom.

And meet and join in with a group of other friendly ladies!

Questions & Answers

  • It depends! If you had a natural vaginal birth you need to wait 6 weeks and gain clearance Fromm your midwife or GP confirming they are happy for you to exercise.

If you had a C section you need to wait 12 weeks and I will need a note from your midwife or GP clearing you for exercise.

If you are currently working with a medical professional, if you had complications, pre existing issues or a pubis symphysis derangement or separation of the abdominals (known as diastasis recti) I will need written clearance from them. Please do contact me for more advice.

  • Basically to ensure you are safe when exercising. There are many complications that can occur post partum within your joints, bones or muscles as well as within other parts of your body! In the early months after birth the body is still fatigued and so intense workouts are not advised. Don’t be deceived by the idea of snapping the body back after childbirth as celebrities boast of - sometimes what they say and what is actually happening are two very different things. Listen to your body and be prepared to wait for things to settle.

  • Provided you have medical clearance I recommend that you work with me 1:1 for a while. Every body is different so please get in touch.

I teach a 1:1 programme that can really help you recover from the diastasis recti issue so please get in touch.

  • If your body has had a baby then yes, you do have a post natal body! Many women do find this work incredibly supportive to them, so you definitely do not have to be a new mum! If you are looking for deeper support and connection in your body this course can definitely help you!

  • Pelvic floor issues are not issues to be ignored. If you have any form of pelvic pain, or you are having problems with continence you should always refer back to your GP, women’s health physiotherapist or specialist. That is nothing to be ashamed of and is really important to ensure recovery of the issue and that you are physically ready to exercise. This course should help support but should never replace gaining medical advice.

Work with me 1:1 for Personal Training and support for your Diastasis Recti, Pelvic Floor or other issues related to female health.

This is for those of you who either want to work in a 1:1 environment for a tailored and bespoke programme for your body, to help you manage post natal conditions with other conditions or to work through any issues before you transfer into a group course.

I am a pre and Post Natal Pilates Specialist teacher of the Centre for Women’s Fitness and I also hold a qualification in Diastasis Recti Recovery so I can with you to see if there is potential not only to close the gap which is usually what most women are concerned about, but also to realign and restore your body to its greatest potential functionally and ease many pains and strains in the body.

If you are working with a medical professional I can work with you provided I have clearance from them and I am also able to work with a Clinical Pilates focus (this is where I work with you on the exercises set down by your medical professional. Please do get in touch if you wish to know more about this)
