Group Classes of the Somatic Movement Studio for Women’s & Dancer Health.

Welcome to a more bespoke and personal way of moving, even in a group class.

As my studio is focused on female and dancer health and wellbeing my Semi Private Group classes are planned primarily for the needs of women and dancers and are designed to support both at each stage of their life. You may wish to attend only one class, or subscribe to several, depending on the needs of your own body.

Every group class is semi private and limited in number so I can get to know you and your body a lot better, and is ideal for those of you with no issues in your body who are looking to optimise your health and wellbeing or have a few issues that can be worked with in a group setting or have worked with me initially 1:1 and are ready to work more independently.

These semi-private classes are charged on a subscription basis whereby you pay by the month and are a world away from pay as you go classes. There are no drop ins or taster lessons.

Sometimes you may need to work with me 1:1 for a short while if you have a history of illness, injury or issues in your body. Every body is a different body and has different pathways. Contact me if you have any queries.

  • In Person Pilates Fundamentals - Shropshire and Birmingham. New for 2024.

    Come and learn the fundamentals of Pilates and understand what this fantastic method is about, and how it can help you lessen those daily aches and pains, improve your posture and strengthen and mobilise parts of your body to bring yourself into balance.

    This course is suitable for beginners and those who have never encountered Pilates in a mindful, somatic way. You can discover more about my approach to teaching Pilates on my Pilates page.

    The semi-private class has restricted numbers and no drop ins are allowed. This is to ensure that your progress as a group is not disrupted.

    You have to be currently uninjured to attend this class and not working with a medical professional, or have gained clearance from them to allow you to work with me. You should be able to get up and down from the floor unaided.

    If you have an injury or are not able to get up or down from the floor it is likely you will need personal training for a while. This allows you and me to understand your issues, everybody is different so the best thing to do is contact me for advice.

    If you have osteoporosis or a bone density issue then Buff Bones® is a better choice for you. Contact me if you have any questions about your suitability for Pilates.

    Somatic Pilates Virtual

    Somatic Pilates is a combination of both the principles of Pilates and Somatic Movement.

    It is deeply calming and enriching work and is suitable for a whole range of bodies, from those who want to deepen their Pilates practice, to those who are new, or those who want to work with their body in a refined way. No copying, just you and your body, bringing yourself back into alignment body, mind and spirit.

  • Virtual Franklin Method® Immersives on Worldwide Livestream

    Optimal healthy movement begins by understanding and learning how to embody our own design.

    In the Franklin Method® we learn by doing. My streams are small and keep you at the centre of the process - it is about movement and sensing and feeling our bodies as well as sharing our collective experience. Find out more about Franklin Method® from its designated page.

    My Franklin Method classes are suitable for those without injury or under therapeutic care. If you do have an injury then contact me to discuss options. If you manage a medical condition contact me first to see if the class in that week is suitable for you.

The greatest journey always takes you home, back to your body.

All Virtual Clients are 18 years old and over. If you are currently working with a medical professional, post natal or are over 65 I will need written clearance before you can commence lessons to ensure that the sessions are suitable for you.

In some circumstances I may need to work with you 1:1 for a while to help you transition into group class - if you have any queries please contact me for advice.

You do need to have technology and wifi that can run Zoom sessions and you must keep your camera on at all times. Everything is run from inside the Virtual Studio through Zoom.
