Somatic Pilates Virtual Tuesdays 7.15-8.15pm (UK time)
Somatic Pilates is a unique blend of the principles of Pilates as well as the Principles of Somatic Movement. It is a lot more detailed in the way it is taught and is slower in pace to allow you to feel your body and become more integrated in mind body and spirit. It blends together all of my training in Somatics and Pilates to take you on a unique journey in discovering you.
By integrating body awareness, deeper connection, and gentle yet powerful movement, Somatic Pilates can provide a wide range of benefits in the mind body and spirit.
Somatic Pilates encourages you to tune into your body with a much deeper awareness that you may gain in a standard Pilates class.
Become more attuned to how your body moves, where you hold tension, and how your muscles engage. Discover greater ranges of motion in your body without stretching or pulling at vulnerable muscles and joints. Through this awareness, learn to move with greater precision and efficiency. Improve your overall movement patterns and fostering a deeper mind-body connection.
Work with less force and tension in your body, when you work in Somatic Pilates lots of the chronic stress and tension you hold falls away.
The focus on embodied and deeper breathing helps you not only connect with you but helps you regulate your nervous system and help you body have a greater sense of ease and comfort. Over time you will reduce mental fatigue and increase mental clarity and focus.
Become more grounded in what you do: By focusing on the sensations in your body and the quality of your movement, you create a deeper connection between your mind /body. This heightened awareness not only improves your practice and embodiment of Pilates and carries over into everyday life, helping you make more mindful choices and be more present in your daily activities.

Joining information
Somatic Pilates Semi Private Group classes are somatically based and suitable for everyone but especially suitable for the needs of women and dancers.
Every group class is semi private and limited in number so I can get to know you and your body a lot better, and is ideal for those of you with no issues in your body who are looking to optimise your health and wellbeing or have a few issues that can be worked with in a group setting or have worked with me initially 1:1 and are ready to work more independently.
These semi-private classes are charged on a subscription basis.
Sometimes you may need to work with me 1:1 for a short while if you have a history of illness, injury or issues in your body. Every body is a different body and has different pathways. Contact me if you have any queries.
Somatic Movement Classes and Immersive and Retreats
If you have an injury or medical condition you need to check with your medical professional that these classes are suitable for you. You declare that your medical professionals are happy for you to take part. Franklin Method® and Somatic Movement works from the principle of health. They do not replace medical care. If you have a physical or mental condition these classes do not replace treatment and you are advised to work with a physiotherapist and / or mental health professional. By joining these classes it is presumed that you have clearance and are able to get up and down from the floor unaided. As a trauma informed practitioner I work with care, but in some cases of trauma these classes may not be suitable. You need to check beforehand with your own medical professionals. Group classes are never the place to work through trauma, these classes are for somatic movement exploration and are not somatic therapy.

The greatest journey always takes you home, back to your body.
All Virtual Clients are 18 years old and over. If you are currently working with a medical professional, post natal or are over 65 I will need written clearance before you can commence lessons to ensure that the sessions are suitable for you.
In some circumstances I may need to work with you 1:1 for a while to help you transition into group class - if you have any queries please contact me for advice.
You do need to have technology and wifi that can run Zoom sessions and you must keep your camera on at all times. Everything is run from inside the Virtual Studio through Zoom.
