What happens in a Franklin Method® workshop?

 

All Franklin Method® workshops begin with a mind body warmup and introduces participants to the principles of the Franklin Method® that show how we bring about positive change in our movement, feeling and thinking.  

We then move onto the topic of the workshop that is the study for the session. We take a deep dive into this area of the body, learning about the chosen anatomy, physiology or movement. I take you through ways to find and discover your own body in movement, how to make your movement healthy and how to use imagery in every possible way to improve what you do and how you feel. I will use many different methods to help you embody movement and develop your own felt sense.

In doing so, you will learn more about how you are currently moving, as well as what you can do to make their own movement optimal; comfortable, efficient and healthy.

For some topics we may dive deeply into the body, its inner anatomy and physiology. These experiences can be incredibly moving as you experience something you have always owned but never possibly experienced. They can also be incredibly calming and feel like either a moving or static meditation. We are not ‘doing’ meditation but when you engage deeply with the process you will find you mind will empty and you can feel very relaxed.

The Franklin Method® teaches you how to stay healthy in daily life and gives you a set of tools you take away which are yours to apply to whatever you wish.

Franklin Method® workshops also use the Franklin Balls and bands to help train the body - each session will let you know what kind of equipment if any you may need.

Franklin Method® Educators are only allowed to teach workshops they are trained, examined and licensed to teach.

As an Advanced Level 3 Franklin Method® Educator I am qualified and licensed to teach all of the Franklin Method® workshops, and additionally I run my own masterclasses and dancer specific ones.  I can teach on any aspect of the body, bones, muscles, fascia, organs, glands, lymphatic and the nervous system in movement.  Below are some examples of what workshops I teach, there are many many more!
