Franklin Method® for Dancers Masterclasses: Buoyant Effortless Jumps and Secure Landings and Deep Stability for Adage
Coming in August at the Nicholson School of Dance where I am guest teaching these two masterclasses on 22 and 23 August
Effortless Jumps and Landings looks at how to increase elevation and have soft and healthy landings into the floor, as well as how to improve balance for adage and movements that require a lot of control.
Balance and Deep stability for adage uses the dynamic imagery of the Franklin Method® to help dancers find different ways of stabilising for movements that require deep control.
Franklin Method® for dancers is a way to improve movement very quickly, with efficiency and comfort but using imagery, biomechanics and learning how we as a body were built to move. We try lots of fun strategies out and find what works for us as unique individuals.
Franklin Method® for dancers is taught in elite settings throughout the world and I am overjoyed to be returning back to the Nicholson School of Dance, a beautiful ballet school which puts health, wellbeing and enjoyment of dance at the centre and builds strong technique and artistry from that base.
An ideal pairing as Franklin Method® is also about the individual dancer and their unique body, and as Dance UK healthcare practitioner my role is to help dancers become the best they can be in a setting that is supportive to their health and wellbeing in every respect.
Because when the individual person is looked after so much becomes possible, after all dance is about self expression, joy, creativity. Explore your passion, and discover this new tool to enhance your dancing, which currently is the cutting edge in movement fields.
Location is the Nicholson School of Dance, 11, Minerva Works, 158 Fazeley St, Birmingham B5 5RT
