☀️ Join me this summer for my latest transformative Somatic Movement Day Retreat, where we will explore the deep connection between movement, breath, and strength, with a special focus on embodied pelvic floor work using Franklin Method® as well as the latest techniques for deeper connection with this incredible and powerful place of us. This day is designed to empower women of all ages to reconnect with their bodies, release tension, and rediscover the strength that lies within. 🌸

What to Expect:

☀️ In this immersive retreat, we will guide you through the powerful practice of Somatic Pilates where the focus is on movement that is deeply connected and integrated: mind and body.  Together, we will learn more about our pelvic floor and explore pelvic floor exercises through movement and breath that help tone and work with this very intimate part of ourselves.  Become more attuned to your body’s needs and gaining strength and stability from the inside out. 🧘‍♀️

Why Focus on the Pelvic Floor?

☀️The pelvic floor plays a key role in female health—supporting vital organs, influencing posture, the wellbeing of our lower back and contributing to overall strength.  If you want to deepen your understanding of your body, this retreat will offer valuable tools and techniques to support your pelvic health and wellbeing as a whole.

My Approach:

☀️Embodied Pelvic Floor Work using the Franklin Method®: Learn how to connect with, activate, and release your pelvic floor muscles in a supportive and empowering way.  Franklin Method® is a somatic and embodiment practice that is based on the reality of our anatomy, and we use imagery movement and breath to affect positive change in our pelvic floor.  Learn that pelvic floor health is an issue for the whole body.  So much more to it than simply pulling up!

☀️Somatic Pilates: Engage in movement practices that connect you with your body’s natural alignment and help cultivate inner strength, stability, and flexibility whilst working from a deeper curing of our centre that supports our pelvic floor as well as our abdominals-  a gentle soft powered strength is built from the inside out.

☀️Somatic Breathwork using Franklin Method® : Discover how conscious embodied breathing supports the pelvic floor, allowing you to move with greater ease and awareness.

☀️Empowerment: This retreat is designed to help you feel empowered in your body—learning how to support yourself through movement, breath, and mindfulness.

I will create a safe, nurturing space for you to connect with yourself and your body, and to leave feeling rejuvenated and empowered.  As a Trauma Informed practitioner and Somatic Therapist currently in my clinical part of training, as well as a Pre and Post Natal Pilates Specialist teacher I do understand that this can be an area of health that is so intimate for women and can carry large emotions with it.💖

The Day Includes:

☀️Somatic Pilates with a focus upon finding your centre muscles and pelvic floor muscles and supporting yourself in a healthy and gentle way.  The ‘centre’ in Pilates can be a bit of mystical place for many - but come and discover how to work with your anatomical reality.  

☀️Learn about the Pelvic floor in a holistic and global way - pelvic floor health is a whole body issue.

☀️Embodied and Somatic Movement of Franklin Method: Pelvic floor exercises through movement and breath

☀️Guided breathwork to reduce stress and support the pelvic floor

☀️Time for reflection and embodied journaling. Throughout the day, have space for your own moments for reflection, journalling and deep relaxation set in the beautiful Garden Rooms in Newton Meadows near to Shrewsbury, with tranquil spaces, views of the Shropshire Hills.

☀️Nourishing breaks with healthy snacks and light refreshments and afternoon tea with cocoa and chocolate cake!

☀️ This is a time and space to really connect back into you, feel ground, resilient and more in your own body and a chance to integrate the physical practices with a mental reset leaving you feeling rejuvenated and centered.

☀️ If you are a movement professional you will find some useful resources, or if you are interested in Somatics or are a practitioner yourself come and discover Somatics from Franklin Method® and a therapeutic Polyvagal perspective - my two principal practices, although there are many more that I also use.

ps. You will need to bring your own Pilates mat, blanket, a sandwich and a journal with you.

(☀️If you are pre or postnatal you may attend with the permission of your midwife - or better still bring her with you!  You are not able to attend if you have had a c section and are not yet 12 weeks post natal.
